Missouri internet crimes against children task force

ICAC Membership

The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force of Missouri is one of 61 Task Force Units funded by the United States Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.  The ICAC-MO Task Force Program is managed by the Glendale, Missouri Police Department, working in concert with the Regional Computer Crimes Education and Enforcement Group (RCCEEG) of Greater St. Louis.  These 61 Task Force Groups share investigative, technological, training and prevention information, resources and materials.  A major component to the ICAC program is the work conducted in partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, specifically the CyberTipline and NetSmartz.

Investigation

MO ICAC is affiliated with more than 80 Police and Sheriff Departments throughout the State, the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the United States Attorney of Eastern and Western District of Missouri, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the United States Postal Inspection Service.  These affiliate agencies work together to investigate the exploitation of children through the use of the Internet or other digital technology.  MO ICAC provides technical assistance in the areas of investigations, legal process, forensics and training to affiliate agencies and others in Missouri who need assistance in the area of online child exploitation.

Prevention

Prevention activities are also an important component of the work being conducted by MO ICAC.   In partnership with the INOBTR organization these prevention resources are available to DARE Officers, School Resource Officers, Crime Prevention Officers and others to conduct online safety presentations for their schools and community.

Please feel free to view the White Paper produced from our 2009 MO Summit on Online Child Exploitation.  The Summit is a multidisciplinary gathering of professionals held to assess the current states of investigation, prevention, prosecution, forensics and training in the field and is attended by representatives of each of our affiliate agencies.

To obtain Missouri ICAC or National ICAC Task Force investigative and/or training resources you must be a member of a MO ICAC affiliate agency.
